Actually I don't remember the reason but afaik Br in the middle will stabilize the compound

I think it should be an alkene with a double bond between the middle carbon atoms and with one bromine atom at the terminal carbon

Alc. KOH is not a strong enough base to further react with alkene. The above product would have been the answer if NaNH2 was used in place of alc. KOH.
