What is the most stable oxidation state of Scandium?
I think +3 is more stable oxidation state
Scandium shows only one oxidation state(+3).
Scandium's most common oxidation state is +3, with the +2 and +1 oxidation states being rarer but possible.
Is the common oxidation state also the most stable one?
I think usually the trend is same i.e. the more common oxidation state is more stable
the reason is obvious
And yeah for Scandium afaik +3 is the most stable
Every element tries to exist in the most stable form possible and hence most commonly found species are the one which are most stable
