Check the direction only
Are you not getting clockwise?
@Tarun_Gudipati @DEEPAK_MOONAT all said right brother.
In B and C case, the friction is forward, how can the torque about the centre be clockwise?
And we have nothing to do with the torque due to F
Mate , you can’t check torque about centre …its non inertial …bottom point is at rest , you can apply r× F there
If we can’t take the torque about the centre then how come in rotational dynamics, we take torque equation for a rolling body?
About non inertial point I guess
No. Torque has nothing to do with frame of reference. We equate it with the corresponding moment of inertia and angular acceleration.
A minute please
What will be angular acceleration in this case?
We can find it by calculating the torque about the bottom most point, with moment of inertia relative to the ICOR
Ans please…a mathematical value
Friction will come out negative that’s why subtracted.
This angular acceleration is with respect to the bottom point.
Angular acceleration is same for all points
Yeah, I know but with respect to the centre we need to calculate it with friction as the force, that’s what I mean to say with 'with respect to bottom’s.
