Am I the only one to notice this, but the seat matrix was released, and almost in every IIT, they have reduced seats(granted by only one or 2) for general(neutral) for increasing female seats. So thats not much. But its even more in NITs(upto 5 or seats have been taken from general and put to female reservation in one branch, for eg earlier there were 26 seats for general, now there are only 21 for EEE in NIT W Home state, rest 5 for female reservation). So, they have not increased seats so that women get more seats, instead they have cut seats from General Category to increase seats of women.
That is not what was mentioned in the brochure. It clearly stated that General male students wont get a disadvantage as reservation would be done on supernumerary seats. Thats not the case now I guess.
This is just BS.
- This will for sure affect the boys' seats in IITs/NITs
- This won't affect the boys' seats in IITs/NITs
