Bro I just applied one logic that , the other one can't be possible as we know in case of potentiometer precaution is that we have to apply connection with positive(net overall) end to be in connection with emf cell.positive . got it @Viraam_Rao bro ??

Like in the first pic you drew bro. Why cant E2 > E1 so that the first case is not possible and second case is?
Reason is take points as A,B where wire meets with kvl Va-Vb =ir
And Va-E=Vb >>Va-Vb=E(when positive side conected to positive side ) so +ve side connected to positive side
@Viraam_Rao Bro ,as u know that effect (net) will be of higher one and direction would of that . for second case potentiometer kam nahi karega . I know the reason bro , teachers ne hame acchi tarah class me bataya tha @Yash_Srivastava2 bro
