The electron gain enthalpy of the following reaction is
O- to O2- ?
1)less negative than first electron gain enthalpy
2)more negative than second electron gain enthalpy
3) a positive value

And the answer is 3) and the reason given is O- is a anion so the negative charge repul the electron that is abt to add.....
But isn’t O2- more stable(noble conf) thanO-

Here you are checking ege for O- then stability of O-2 does matter.
Ege for O- only depends only on O-.
