Nitrogen exists as a diatomic molecule with a triple bond(one s and two p)between the two
Can someone explain me this line from ncert
What they mean by one s two p

N triple bond N. Here one S means one sigma bond (single bond) and 2p means 2 pi bond (double bond).
Yeah, in some places in NCERT & other standard books, σ-bond is written as s-bond and Π-bond is written as p-bond. So, N2 will have one 's' & 2 'p' bonds.
P.S. I am not sure why such a thing exist but IMO it is something related to unicode typing.
