But the two methyl groups on ring can so GI. If both are cis, one isomer.
If both are trans then two optical isomers.
Shouldn't total be 3 isomers?

Cis isomer is optically inactive(1 form). Trans isomer is optically active(2 forms).

It has improper axis of symmetry .... Like in truxilic acid... It is optically inactive in trans form so 2 option is correct .... But it is far far beyond the scope of jee mains syllabus that they want us to check even improper axis of symmetry
