Doubt from Chemical Kinetics

Why there is negative sign in the Arrhenius Equation? ( Is it in boards syllabus)

I don’t know what exactly they want you to answer for this questions , but this is my take for this question
If negative sign would have not been there , then according to the equation with increase in temperature k must decrease but , practically k increases with increase in temperature

Actually it was asked by the external examiner in my viva and I was only thinking that is it in Ncert ? Well I can't find a proper reason for this anywhere.
