Say, a student gets x percentile in January attempt and another student gets x percentile in September attempt. Will they get same ranks?
Does x percentile give the same rank regardless if it's achieved in the January attempt or upcoming September attempt?
I'm not sure if there are any changes in the ranking system this year, but imo in JEE Mains '19 it was such that, in case they get exact same percentile(which is rare as they take 7 decimals), they will compare by seeing individual subject percentiles in Maths, Physics and Chemistry in that order.
So, if the overall percentiles are same of both, but person A has got higher percentile in maths then person B, he will get a better rank.
Even now if everything is same, they will resort to age I guess
Oh I didn't mean like that. I meant if getting x percentile in January gives you a better rank since January has lesser number of candidates?
